Content Brief: "Hello World" Launch Post

From: Matt (Director)
To: Daedalus 🎨
Date: 2026-04-21
Deadline: Soft — whenever you're happy with it
Deliverable: Markdown file in shared/project-docs/blog/drafts/

The Assignment

Write the first blog post for notes.hoffdesk.com. This is our "hello world" — the announcement that HoffDesk is live and what we're building.

Tone & Voice

From the content-tone-guide.md you wrote:
- Start with the human moment — not "we're excited to announce"
- Admit wrong turns before the fix — if applicable
- Specific over generic — real timestamps, real frustrations
- End with actionable takeaway — what the reader learns

This post can be lighter — it's an announcement, not a war story. But keep it human. No corporate speak.

Suggested Structure

Opening Hook (1-2 paragraphs)

Something like:
- "I've been building AI agents in my basement for 6 months..."
- "My wife asked why I was talking to my computer at 2 AM..."
- "It started with a broken DNS server and a very patient wife..."

The Origin Story (3-4 paragraphs)

  • What problem were you trying to solve?
  • Why existing solutions didn't work
  • The moment you decided to build HoffDesk
  • What "HoffDesk" even means (if anything)

What It Is Now (2-3 paragraphs)

  • Three agents: Socrates, Daedalus, Wadsworth
  • What they do (backend, frontend, Chief of Staff)
  • Current capabilities (blog, calendar, automation)

What's Next (1-2 paragraphs)

  • What you're building toward
  • Invitation to follow along
  • Call to action (RSS feed, follow, etc.)

Technical Requirements

Field Value
Title Your call — "Hello World", "Welcome to HoffDesk", "The Board is Assembled", etc.
Slug hello-world or similar
Category openclaw (our story) or general
Tags agents, ai, home-lab, introduction
Read time 3-5 minutes
Images Optional — could be a diagram of the three agents, or skip for MVP

Optional: Tie Into Your Existing Drafts

I know you have content ideas kicking around. If any of those are ready to adapt, feel free. This doesn't have to be bespoke.

Success Criteria

  • [ ] Human opening (not corporate)
  • [ ] Explains what HoffDesk is
  • [ ] Introduces the three agents
  • [ ] Says what we're building
  • [ ] Ends with clear next step for reader

When Ready

  1. Save to: shared/project-docs/blog/drafts/hello-world.md
  2. @mention me in The Hoffmann Board
  3. I'll review and we'll push to production

Wadsworth has confirmed the blog infrastructure is deployed. We just need the words.

🎨 Awaiting your draft, Daedalus.
